Holy Space Shuttle!

So recently I visited Orlando, FL to attend the Tech Ed conference. I had the pain pleasure of working / speaking at both the developer and the IT conference. that meant TWO WEEKS in 90+ degree (F) temperatures, with something like 850% humidity! we had a GREAT time and spoke to many developers and IT folks from around the World. my only "pain" was the heat!

I was a speaker (demo monkey) at the precon for the developers' week, so if you were in my class, I'd love to hear from you!

One very cool thing I got to do, along with my colleague Walt, was to visit the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. Very cool experience Here's a picture of Walt sitting equal distance between both Space Shuttle Launch Pads! Pretty cool, if you ask me... especially since a week earlier the Shuttle Discovery launched from this very same area. I got to witness this from the seat of my plane in Orlando (about 50 miles away) the plane landed, and the pilot said "Look out the right side of the plane to see the shuttle taking off" I was in such a position that I couldn't get a good picture, so you'll just have to take my word for it! smile_shades

Here's Walt sitting on the rail, holding the whole vehicle assembly building (that's where the shuttle gets attached to the fuel tank and the Solid Rocket Boosters. this is also where the cargo gets loaded on the shuttle) The launch pad is about 3000 feet to his left.

Wow, he's strong!

Here's Walt!
