Visual Web Developer Express, Windows Vista Beta 1, Acrylic Beta and MS Paint at Assembly '05
Ok, Assembly is over now. Here's how Microsoft was involved:
- I presented two sessions at the ARTtech seminar series
- We had a stand at the exhibition area with 4 beds that were free for all participants to sleep in (sleep is something you typically get very little at Assembly ;)
- At our stand we had a demo machine with beta versions of Visual Studio 2005, Visual Web Developer Express Edition and Acrylic on it
- On friday and on saturday I presented short introductions on Visual Web Developer Express Edition during the day
- On saturday I also installed Windows Vista Beta 1 x64 version to my Ferrari 3400 laptop. It installed in just under 1,5 hours without a glitch. So far, I'm running it as my production environment.
- On saturday evening I also handed out prizes for two competition winners in front of several thousand spectators
- We ran also a couple of competitions of our own
Overall, it was a very nice experience for us to be a part of Assembly this year. There were lots of positive comments from the participants during the four days, especially regarding the Visual Studio Express Editions.
We had more or less a constant presence at our stand, with some outstanding results from some of our guests:

And who said MS Paint is not good enough? This picture is drawn with just ordinary mouse with MS Paint in front of our eyes (with permission from muzzy):

Muzzy also has lots more content made with MS Paint at his site, enjoy!
