New camera!
After shooting pictures for three years with Canon Digital Ixus 400, I decided to get something better.
I finally ended up purchasing Canon EOS 350D. Originally I ordered it from Technikdirekt.de, but after 6+ weeks of waiting I decided to cancel my order and get it locally from Rajala (in Sanomatalo, Helsinki). It was somewhat more expensive that way, but at least they had it in stock. Technikdirekt kept saying that they don't know when they will get it, and I finally gave up. They did respond to all of my email enquiries promptly though and explained their situation, which left a good feeling. Too bad that they had a delivery problem.
From Rajala I bought a 350D Kit + Sigma 70-300 lens, the idea being that I experiment with these things first and then decide if I need some more expensive lenses. I have no experience of a SLR camera in the past, so I need to get some training first.
Btw, with the 70-300 attached to the camera it looks huge! It measures about 25 cm altogether with the hood attached in its shortest form, add another 10cm or so in 300mm length. With that in my hands I look as if I were a pro photographer unless you know better :)
I also bought LowePro Stealth Reporter 300 AW today to hold my equipment, so far it can easily swallow the whole arsenal at once :)
