One of the most peculiar machine which I've ever seen

I went to a place of worship in Hyderabad where I saw this peculiar machine. I don't know what to call it!! Its a electrical machine that plays the drum and bells (??). I just couldn't figure out why they couldn't use a music player instead. Unfortunately (or was it fortunately??) it was powered off at that moment.

Yes, well said. Why can't we go for a audio player instead of this electrical instrument.

Valid point !!

Automated bell-playing instruments are common at many older large Christian (particularly Catholic) churches here in North America and Europe.  Generally a church will have a bell-tower where the bells will play music automatically at the start of service.  The music is usually loud enough to be heard throughout town.

However, the smaller system you show is somewhat funny - it had to be put on a towel because it obviously shakes too much otherwise.

I heard it shakes and clatters a lot when left directly on the ground :)
