RibbonX For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))Those of you out there building custom Ribbon UI for Access/Office might be interested to know that the Dummies folks have recently released a guide for building Ribbon UI titled (as you might expect) "RibbonX for Dummies".  The book is a general guide to building Ribbon XML, and it does include a section specifically on Access 2007.

Hi Zac

I could not reply to you anymore on the issues regarding the SP3 Hotfix problems because the discussion was closed right after you gave a comment.

I provided my e-mail address in the postings but haven't received any message from your team or Microsoft in order to solve the problems regarding the hotfix.

If you have any questions I'm glad to help you.

I'd like to point you to my problem with A2002 - Text box (memo-field): division of words with diacritics: http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=83&Number=1565928&Zf=&Zw=&Zg=0&Zl=a&Main=1565928&Search=true&where=&Zu=122546&Zd=l&Zn=&Zt=28&Zs=&Zy=#Post1565928&Zp=

I've gone through KB hot-fixes for A2002 SP3 but non of them is a fix for my problem... which, of course, is very important. It seems to be a bug in Czech version of A2002 and it's critical for some of my applications.

Pls, help if you can!

TIA

Why don't they give us a way to get rid of the ribbon and go back to classic mode. I work with 3 very large companies and no one likes the ribbon. So far Vista is a disaster, Office 2003 SP3 is a disaster and now 2007 SP1 is a disaster. What has happened to MS, do they not do any testing anymore?

I agree with the above comment... I have been a keen Access enthusiast since 1995 and have developed many applications over the years but I won't be creating anything in Access 2007.

I think it looks awful, it's slow, it's buggy, runtime is a disaster and the ribbon is a pain and doesn't increase work flow, productivity, speed or ease of use.

Garry (frustrated and disappointed).

Tim: What makes you say '2007 SP1 is a disaster'.  This is the first time I've heard such highly critical feedback on the SP.  Do you find that it is not an improvment over 2007 RTM?
