Mass-culture 'works' in Beijing: fads, fashions, hot topics.  IKEA is no exception.  But a recent article proclaimed that Beijingers have fallen out of love with IKEA:

"It's a fearsome state of affairs when everyone's home is identical, since a home is meant to be a person's most private and individual place."

Technology devices are not immune from this.
