You've lost that lovin' feeling

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the bar where several scenes from Top Gun were filmed is right accross the street from my hotel in San Diego.

I will be making a official visit tonight with several of my wingmen. If I had one of those “100 things I want to do in my life” lists, as of tomorrow, I would have one less thing to do.

That is the most pathetic thing I have ever read. If visiting the sets from Top Gun is on your list, you need to write a new list. With a new pen. On new paper.

if you're a Top Gun fan, you'll be pleased to know a "Special Edition" DVD is supposed to come out later this year. November I think.

Take it from a bonafide TopGun graduate (http://www.softinsight.com/LifeBeforeProgramming.aspx), what you should really wish you could experience is what the real Miramar Officer's Club was like on a Wednesday night, back before the Tailhook scandal (after which we we had to all grow up and act respectable). It wasn't nearly as disco or cheesy as the one in the flick, but the women... oh the women... Something to experience. Well, that and the flyin' was kinda cool too. ;)
