Stream of conscience
A friend out in Redmond recently passed along this link. Stan Zdonik was my advisor up at Brown, and I was fortunate enough to help out on the StreamBase project when it was called Aurora. Apparently, Forbes.com found out about StreamBase and wanted to know more. InfoWorld also has an article and interview on the topic.
Personally, I was amazed by the results the project got even in its early stages. The concept involved "inverting" the database. Instead of storing data and waiting for the questions to come in, the system stores the questions and waits for the data to come in. If you have any interest in database or continuous query systems, check it out!

About Adam Singer
Faster than a speeding batch file, stronger than a well coded C# library, Adam is often seen testing those dark, dank quagmires of features where few tread and even fewer return. And he does so with a signature chipper attitude not sold in stores.
