Gearing up for the holidays

The holiday shopping season will soon be upon us, and it's never too early to start preparing your adCenter campaigns to optimize sales this season. This month we'll be sharing some season-specific tips to help you get ready for this all-important time of year, when shoppers are chomping at the bit to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones.

Key dates to prepare for include the day after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday. This year, the date to keep in mind is Friday, November 23. Then there's the following Monday, sometimes called Cyber Monday, which is another top shopping volume day.

No time to take a break once those holidays are over – those of us who've gotten cold, hard cash in our stockings are rearing to go and find all the best post holiday sales. Folks start hitting the Internet right after Christmas and keep looking for the best prices through New Year's.

You have plenty of time to get ready for the holiday rush, but it's never too early to start preparing your campaigns. Check your performance reports – are there any ads that are underperforming? Take time now to tweak these and see what works to improve performance. Also, start thinking about expanding your keyword lists and customizing your ad copy to meet shoppers' holiday needs. And don't forget about offline...if you're running print and radio ads, make sure your online advertising is in sync with your offline promotions.

We'll have more specific tips here on the blog in the next couple weeks, but for now, we just wanted to remind you to mark your calendars and get ready…the holidays will be upon us before we know it!
