Any chance you can tell me if SP1 Beta 1 bits will allow me to access SQL 2008 FILESTREAM tables as Entities? And/or whether they'll be supported in Astoria?

I was wondering if the Entity Framework is working well with SQL Encrypted columns.

I have a few columns that are encrypted using SQL Server's EncryptByPassphrase and decrypted using DecryptByPassphrase.

I tryied with LINQ to SQL and it doesn't work unless you rely on a stored procedure in the method pane.

If yes, could you provide a sample in this blog?

I read it was supposed to be released during the FIRST HALF OF 2008.

There are only 12 months in 2008 and we're in month 7. Which "first half" is it? The first or the second?

The Visual Studio 2008 SP1 has ability to do EF mapping graphically. However, the only examples I see on the Web have different XML than the one generated by the VS entity framework.

Does someone know of any place to get working examples of inheritance implemented

in Entity Framework using Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

I could only implement just one table per hierarchy (
