What I love about Live Search
Since the Windows Live Launch 18 months ago and there has been enormous amount of effort done in providing an amazing suite of products over the web. Microsoft has really changed the way we search and find information over the web. Yes google is a pioneer in search but wait until you see those products; google have them but here what makes Windows Live different.
I have been using google earth even before they bought keyhole. I loved the product so much but always wondered where is the 3D environment on the web. Live local really touches the user experience making map viewing so easy to manage and organize. You can save locations in your scratch pad, toggle between 2D and 3D views, and of course the amazing birds eye view which still google is trying to figure out !. The most amazing feature is trying to find a restaurant and then asking live local to connect you over the phone ! All this over the web and not a desktop application !.
The image search has an amazing preview window whenever you move your mouse over any of them and just gives you a preview of the image information. Further it provides a way for you to add all your chosen images in a scratch pad in the right pane so you can concentrate on searching for more images. Finally, the infinite scrolling feature which not everyone is used to, but for me i just love it since i wouldn't care clicking next no more !
Ok this one i really love, it really touches the user experience of an academic individual trying to search for an article. it has an amazing hover experience, highlighting each article you are viewing with an abstract, author, date, just as if you are viewing your university library. More over it really has good sources of academic information that i wish was there during my thesis !
I hope you would give me some feedback on what you think of those services. enjoy :)
