Computer Science Teacher - Thoughts and Information from Alfred Thompson

Alfred Thompson's blog about teaching computer science at the K-12 level. Alfred was a high school computer science teacher for 8 years. He has also taught grades K-8 as a computer specialist. He has written several textbooks and project books for teaching Visual Basic in high school and middle school. Hi-tech Jobs in Rural America

Interesting article in The Chronicle: Wired Campus Blog this week. There is a company that is setting up office parks near small American colleges to compete for jobs that might otherwise go to India and other places. These companies can also work with these colleges to make sure that the education needs of hiring companies are met.

Moves like this can cut costs while at the same time benifit companies that want to hire American (and American trained) talent. Small college towns offer a lot to people that contribute to a great quality of life. This seems like an idea with potential.
