Computer Science Teacher - Thoughts and Information from Alfred Thompson

Alfred Thompson's blog about teaching computer science at the K-12 level. Alfred was a high school computer science teacher for 8 years. He has also taught grades K-8 as a computer specialist. He has written several textbooks and project books for teaching Visual Basic in high school and middle school. Alfred is the K-12 Computer Science Academic Relations Manager for Microsoft and is trying to be the Microsoft Education Blogger.

Some Useful Links For Teachers

I put together a handout of useful links for teachers today for a workshop that was hosted in Microsoft's Waltham sales office today. Most of these links were in response to questions from teachers in attendance. It seemed to me that these links may be interesting to others as well. And I was having trouble coming up with a post that was both original and useful. :-)

Online Workshop Microsoft has sponsored a free online workshop for 3-5th grade teachers regarding how to teach math better using technology.  It can be found on the home page of the math forum:  www.mathforum.org (Continuing Education Credits are possible)

Microsoft Math There is a free trial (full functionality for 30 days) available from the left navigation menu at the Microsoft Math website - www.microsoft.com/math.
