I Think I Found Workaround For Live Writer Images

EDIT: PLEASE SEE COMMENTS.

Will, do not be sorry for the pingbacks (I've noticed you added this in the end of LiveWriter needs fixing).

I also like Live Writer very much and I also suffer bad images it renders. After reading your post I played around and it seems like if you paste the image from clipboard "as is" then it sucks but if you copy the whole paragraph from say Word doc or Html page that includes the image then it gets just fine

Here is the image directly pasted form Paint:

And here is the one I copied from Word with some text (the text I erased but the image I left):

Nicer, right?

Enjoy

Hi Alik - If I'm not mistaken, when you paste an image from MS Word, or Internet Explorer - it inherits the border settings on the image.

So, LiveWriter doesn't add the Drop Shadow border effect.

Live Writer's image rendering only goes "blurry" when you select either the Drop Shadow or Photopaper borders.

The blur is, I think, an attempt at anti-aliasing - it looks okay on a photo, but not when you're pasting screenshots or things with fine lines (flowcharts, diagrams, etc).

Will, you are totally right!

When choosing "inherit from weblog" - it renders fine. My post seems to be useless but i will leave it as an example of unthorough reading/research. Still it maby usefull when creating blog drafts using Word or Outlook posts, like one of my good friends does, so once the post is done - fire up LiveWriter paste the content created in Word/OL Post and press Publish button. Why using OL Post for blogging? - utilize Word as editor goodies, and save to pst for maintanance and back up

thanks it was learning for me.
