Week 4 on the MSS Team
Not much concrete techie stuff to report here, except that I'm learning more and more every day and it's been great.
I've been assigned the joyful task of reviewing our bugs that have been marked "KB Article Needed" and figuring out whether that's really true. Sounds like a thankless job but it's actually a great way to jump in and learn about the product. In order to submit a request for a KB article, I have to understand the problem, and the solution or workaround. I've gotten a lot of help from folks on our team as well as the PSS engineer who supports MSS and the content manager in KB-world. So far I've submitted 5 article requests for our recently released Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2 product as well as our MSS v1.0, which was released last year. Our team will review the articles once they're written, and then they'll be unleased on the unsuspecting public.
I'm also putting together the email requesting participant nominations for our upcoming MSS v2.0 Technology Adoption Program (TAP). We're looking for a few good partners or end customers who are planning to build a *real* MSS application to deploy to *real* users and provide us detailed product feedback between October 2005 and approx June 2006. If you're interested, send me an email via the Contact link above and I'll send you more info. I'll post more concrete details here later this week.
I'm going to be out of the office from May 4- May 17 for wedding related festivities. More posts when I return.
