New and Improved Speech Server Knowledge Base Articles
As I mentioned in a previous post, one of my early tasks after joining this team was to look through the bug reports for our previous releases and ensure that the appropriate Knowledge Base articles were written. I also looked at recently published articles and had someone on the product team review them for technical accuracy. As a result, the following 7 articles were written or updated:
NEW 841388 - BUG: A "no" answer is falsely recognized when you first answer "yes" to the question "Any extension" in Speech Software Development Kit
NEW 899311 - You receive a "The requested task could not be carried out because the necessary engine could not be created" error message when you click the Speech Control Panel icon
NEW 899312 - You receive an error message after you install Windows SharePoint Services on a computer that is running the Speech Engine Service for MSS 2004
NEW 841392 - You experience excessive call time-outs when the Speech Engine Service (SES) is stopped and the Speech Server is load balanced in Speech Server 2004
NEW 899310 - You receive a "The Setup wizard has detected that Microsoft SQLXML SP2 is not installed" error message when you try to install the Banking Alerts Reference Application from Microsoft Speech Application SDK 1.0
841389 - You may receive an "Unspecified error" error message when you load more than 4,094 item elements that need normalization into a grammar element in the Speech Application SDK 1.0
841391 - A description of the difference between the TimeStamp property and the _TimeStamp property in Microsoft Speech Server 2004
Hope this list helps! There are 3 more articles in progress which should be published sometime this summer. It's a slow process as the initial draft has to be written by the centralized content team, reviewed by the Speech Server Product Group team, then submitted for editing and style magic by the folks who manage the content for all Knowledge Base articles.
