Anandi’s Thoughts

Random stuff (mostly) about working as a Program Manager at Microsoft
Learning to fly

I got a new laptop today! A TabletPC, to be more precise. Being a pen and paper kind of person, I knew I wanted one when they first came out, but being new to my team, ended up with my manager's old Dell while he got a new TabletPC.

So far the learning curve has been a little steep, but I'm making progress. I just can't get used to writing with my hand on the screen. So, apologies for any typos. I'm trying to fix them, but it's a slow process.   Hand-eye coordination was never my strong suit.[:D]

I've already downloaded a bunch of the Power Toys from the Microsoft TabletPC website. I also downloaded the Education Pack. Maybe it'll help me out in the class I'm going to take in October. There are also some Speech features that I'm looking forward to trying out.

What are your favorite Tablet PC features or applications?

Just noticed your blog listed in your email signature. I'll add your blog to my reading list.

I understand the hand-eye coordination thing as I have problems with signing those electronic pads in department stores. It never turns out looking like my real signature.

Hi Marshall! Yeah, my coordination is getting better with the Tablet, though I found out that if you don't write in a straight line, it really messes up the handwriting-to-text conversion.

And I hear you about the dept store thing!

Richard - yup, I downloaded that one too and had some fun with the sample illustrations. I'm not sure what I'd use it for in real life, though :)

Currently my husband and I are both hopelessly addicted to the game Hexic, which comes with the Education Pack.
