Test Management

Testing and Test Management (TM) is crucial for successfully delivering projects. Therefore I wrote a white paper on Test Management which can be found attached to this entry. It looks at TM from a Project Management perspective rather than from a Development perspective and the content originates in the eperience gained in several projects over the last years.

Furthermore I had a lot of discussions about TM and Architecture. It led to a new buzzword: Design for Testing. How to test a solution should be considered already when it is designed!

Hi Andreas,

I know it been a while since you wrote it, but I have read you white paper on Test Management, and I must say that it is nice to experience that more and more people around the globe are becoming aware of the essential tasks of software testing and specifically test management. The software that are being developed in both small or large companies, are becomming more and more complex each day, so the risk of faults and failure are rising dramatically. To have companies acknowledge these fact and start dealing with it, instead of downgrading the tasks of testing, is one of our major goals. It is still amazing how companies has to suffer before they will acknowledge the facts.

What you describe in your document is exactly what test management is about. I will encourage you though, to go a bit more in depth with the subject, as I think much more useful information can be said regarding the sub topics.

But still, thanks for a good aticle.
