Overview
Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP is a component of the Developer Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP. This product is used by application developers to create .NET-based applications that integrate with Microsoft Dynamics GP. These capabilities include customized WinForms, access to dictionary resources, and access to events from the Microsoft Dynamics GP client. Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP consists of two sets of components; a Runtime Installation that provides the components need to run an integration, and a SDK Installation that provides the components needed to create and build the integrations.

System Requirements
1 - You must be using Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 with Service Pack 1, or a later release. Since you will be working with Microsoft Dynamics GP, knowledge of the accounting system will be helpful. Consult the Microsoft Dynamics GP documentation resources to learn more about the product.
2 - You will also want to install the SDK for Microsoft Dynamics GP. The SDK is available on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Installation CD 2. It contains useful information about Microsoft Dynamics GP, such as lists of commonly-used procedures and functions.
3 - To use Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Visual Studio 2005 is required. Earlier versions of Visual Studio cannot be used. It is assumed that you are familiar with programming in a managed language such as C#. This guide uses both C# and Visual Basic to demonstrate how to create integrations.

Installation Instructions
The Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP Runtime version should be installed prior to the Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP SDK version. For Runtime installation instructions, refer to the VSTDGPInstallGuide manual. For a full set of install instructions including both the Runtime and SDK versions, please refer to the VSTDGPProgrammersGuide manual. Links for both manuals are included above in the Downloads and the manuals will also be installed automatically by the installation files. For additional information, please review the contents of the VSTDGPReadme.

Overview
Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 service packs will be releasing every six months to address specific quality reports. This document will be updated as the latest service pack is released and will also include the earlier service pack releases.
These service packs are for English speaking installations of Release 9.0. Translated service packs release approximately 30-60 days following the English speaking releases.

Instructions
An installation manual is included with each service pack that has detailed installation instructions and the fix list for the service pack.
It is recommended to have a working backup of the the following items before applying any service packs:
1. DYNAMICS database 2. All company databases 3. Reports.dic 4. Forms.dic
NOTE: The Reports.dic and the Forms.dic may be located on the server or each workstation. If located at each workstation, make sure to backup the dictionaries at all workstations.

Source Code for Microsoft Dynamics GP available as of May 15, 2006.
With the Microsoft Dynamics™ GP 9.0 and Microsoft Small Business Financials 9.0 releases, Microsoft is introducing a new source code program for Certified Partners and ISVs effective May 15, 2006. The Source Code Program will provide Source Code access to source code for the core modules, Field Service, Financials, US Payroll, CAN Payroll, Human Resources, Fixed Assets, Smartlist, DynUtils, Revenue Expense Deferrals, Manufacturing, GP SQL Stored Procedures and Project Accounting (excluding Professional Services Automation applications), as well as tax updates and service packs (collectively the “Source Code”). This Source Code Program is not available for customers and it supersedes and replaces the source code program previously made available by Microsoft for the Great Plains products known as Great Plains Source Developer Program (“Developer Source Program”).

Overview
Field Service Anywhere is a mobile extension of the Microsoft Dynamics GP Field Service Series designed to run on select Pocket PC devices. Field Service Anywhere has a user-friendly interface technicians can use to log, receive and follow service calls and the parts, labor and expenses associated with the service call.
Field Service Anywhere for Microsoft Dynamics GP is a new module that will be available to Professional customers in regions utilizing US English and Int’l English.
Field Service Anywhere for Microsoft Dynamics GP is priced at $500 USD per named user.

Installation Notes
The following steps should be completed before you begin the installation of Field Service Anywhere.
1. Download the Field Service Anywhere Installation files, Installation Guide and User Guide below.
2. Obtain a valid registration key by contacting Microsoft Business Solutions Sales Operations.
3. Create a backup copy of your databases.
4. Verify all the Prerequisites are installed on the Server and Mobile Device before proceeding. The Prerequisites can be viewed by referring to the Field Service Anywhere Installation Guide.
5. Read through the Field Service Anywhere Installation Instructions prior to starting the install.

Overview
The SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 Report Pack for Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains 8.0 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 is a set of 8 Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services reports that work with the sample database, Fabrikam.
With the Report Pack, you have the choice of using the sample reports either as-is or as templates for designing new reports using the SQL Server Reporting Services Report Designer.
This Report Pack includes the following reports:
- Commissions Report
Shows sales commissions by territory, salesperson, and year. Expand a territory to view sales commissions by a salesperson, or expand a year to view quarterly commissions by territory.
- Customer Profitability Report
Shows sales, total profit, and gross margin percentage per customer for the selected year. Expand customer ID to view the sales, total profit, and gross margin percentage by document number.
- Inventory Value by Site Report
Shows a bar graph of the value of inventory by site and the total inventory value for the company. Click an inventory site bar to display the Inventory Value by Site. Use the Item Number Report to view items and their total value for that site.
- Item Quantity Back Order Report
Shows the quantity of items that are back ordered, quantities that are allocated to purchase orders, and item quantities available for all sites. Expand each item number to view item quantities for all sites.
- Open Purchase Orders Report
Shows purchase orders that have not been closed or canceled per vendor or for all vendors. The report also displays in a list view the number, status, and date of each purchase order, along with the vendor assigned to the purchase order. Expand each purchase order to display the line items and the status of each line item.
- Open Sales Orders Report
Shows a list of unposted sales orders for a range of customers. The report displays in a list view the sales order number, the date of each sales order, customer information, the requested ship date, and the amount remaining on the order, as well as the salesperson assigned to the order. Expand each purchase order to display the line items and specific information about each line item.
- Work Center by Weeks - Employee Capacity Report
Shows the available work centers and the employee capacity of each work center by weeks.
- Work Center by Weeks - Machine Capacity Report
Shows the available work centers and the machine capacity of each work center by weeks.

Audit Trails is a module that enables tracking of changes to any data within Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains 8.0 or Microsoft Dynamics GP, along with the ability to recreate the transaction history.
Electronic Signatures is a module that enables preventative controls to be activated on any place in the system where data is changed. Electronic Signatures presents the user with a window that can require one or more authorized passwords before the data change can be completed.
