I wish today wasn't April Fool's day! It would be great to have HD-DVD back. Blu-ray is such a cluster.

Very cruel indeed, almost had me going since my RSS feed was dated the 2/4/09.... Why would you go through all that effort just for an April's fool joke?

Jamie: In my own defence I would like to point out that much of the posting is entirely factual. I just added some "I wish" items to spice it up and joined some dots that can't really be joined. Sorry about the time zone, I wanted to auto-post it around 8AM GMT but could not for technical reasons.

That is just plain mean Andy :-( but so well written. I only wish that HD DVD would return. Still to this day have not purchased a Blu-Ray and never will.

Really hard for me as I'm a marketing rep for Paramount Home Entertainment. Hate having to deal with their Blu-Ray titles. I'm also not very nice to the Warner Bros. rep either considering Warner Bros. are the ones who gave the final blow to the much better HD DVD format.

But I think Microsoft dropped the ball with the 360. 20G off bluray might seem a bit excessive but it hasn't stopped game developers producing some very high quality movies within their games. Mind you, I hate long cutscenes.

There's no market anymore for another HD format. I do believe downloadable content is going to take over but only when it can be streamed/downloaded at a reasonable pace instead of taking longer than it would to watch to download.
