Ravings of a Developer TS

I have been with Microsoft as part of their Develop Platform and Evangelism team since July of 2006. As I go about my day to day, I often stumble across things I want to share out with the community. This is my soap box. I am based out of the Midwest District, so please don't be offended if you see most of the events I post being in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. If you are ever curious if the event will be in a city near you, just ask :)

Get an early look at Visual Studio code name "Orcas"
The next version of Visual Studio, Microsoft® Visual Studio® code name “Orcas”, will provide an industry-leading developer experience for Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and the Web. In addition, it will continue in the Microsoft tradition of development language innovation. To enable early feedback, this page provides links to Community Technology Preview (CTP) and Beta releases of Visual Studio code name “Orcas”, and for technologies that we plan to include in it. As previews of additional technologies become available, we will make them available from this page.  Read more about it in the recently published whitepaper as well.

Download the public beta here!  Keep in mind it is a *beta*.  I do not recommend installing Beta software in any environment other than a virtual one, or one that you can wipe out and rebuild later when new versions are released.

DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200 before reading Scott Guthrie's "First Look" at Orcas!!
