I'm organising the Keynote Demos at the Ready Summit which will be on tour around Australia for the Launch of Office, Vista and Exchange. Organising, defining, building and delivering demos is the most fun part of my job (which BTW we have an open head in Melbourne).

With the Ready Summit HP Australia have sent us some brand new HP nc8430's – these are super fast, light and big laptops!!!

Let me explain how these are going to work:

  • 2 x Windows Vista
  • 1 x Windows Server 2003 EE + Virtual Server R2
    • Running 2 VPCs
      • 1 Exchange 2007 + Domain Controller + Rights Management Server (~ 1Gb RAM)
      • 1 MOSS 2007 + Live Communication Server (~ 2Gb RAM)

The Virtual Server laptop will have 4Gb of RAM in it.

The Vista laptops run SUPER FAST now with just 1Gb of RAM but may be upgraded to 4Gb.

They will all be networked on their own VLAN to provide integrated demos like:

  • Windows Vista
  • Outlook onto Exchange 2007
  • MOSS 2007
  • Live Communication Server
  • Rights Management Server
  • Search (Vista)
  • Search (MOSS 2007)

The other session that I will be involved in at the Ready Summit are:

  • IT PRO: Optimising Windows Vista and Office 2007 Deployment
  • IT PRO: Deploying WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007
  • DEV: WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Development

Ready Summit will be on tour through:

  • Brisbane
  • Sydney
  • Melbourne
  • Canberra
  • Perth
