K2- Costs more than an enterprise CAL!!!! Something wrong with pricing structure!

NinTex product is OK, though largely irrelevant these days.  The biggest problem with NinTex is that they don't support upgrading from their previous version.  Makes it hard to take them seriously as a vendor.

JordanP, your information is wrong.  We DO support upgrading from our previous version, Nintex SmartLibrary to our latest version, Nintex Workflow 2007.

We have a number of customers who have successfully upgraded between products.

Actually I use SP Designer like a sane person, but because I'm bored I did open your document and web site.  From your FAQs page:

"Q: Are Nintex SmartLibrary 2.x and Nintex Workflow 2007 compatible?

A: No, Nintex Workflow 2007 uses Windows Workflow Foundation only available with SharePoint 2007 technologies. Nintex SmartLibrary cannot be used in 2007 versions of SharePoint, nor can NW2007 be used in 2003 versions of SharePoint."

And from the document that you sent:

"At the end of the process your sites will no longer have any of the following functionality that is currently provided by Nintex SmartLibrary.

- Auditing

- Undelete

- Workflow

However, you will be able to manually import SmartLibrary workflow definitions (from XML) into Nintex Workflow 2007."

There is a big difference between "upgrading" and "cross version" support?

Once you upgrade, why would you care about backwards compatibility?

Hmm, i looked at the demo and nothing really that SharePoint designer can't do. The price of the actual product makes sense only for organization where new workflow is created on a regular basis.

Have you seen K2 Blackpoint?  Way more features and functionality than the Nintex product.  Blackpearl the enterprise version allows you to create workflows in three different canvases.  Visual Studio, Visio, SharePoint!

I saw blackpoint from k2 this week and it rocks!  way more features and the pricing is less than nintex.

Yes, I sense SOME of you guys are getting paid by K2 in an attempt to de-rail the Nintex movement. Look, I dont care about the technology, all I know is that after spending 3 months evaluating K2 and just about to sign the PO, I came across Nintex Workflow and signed on the dotted line within 2 hours of evaluating the product - move value, easier to manage, less risk that K2 AND the other products in the market.

I hear Nintex prefer people to evaulate K2, it makes their sale easier???
