I've uploaded the new Quick App originally developed by the Ed Kaim and the rest of the crew at SharpLogic (enhanced/butchered by me) to the Windows Live Platform Quick Applications codeplex project.

This site is really big (internally we call it a Quick App++).

Why so big? we want to demonstrate some things which can't be demonstrated as easily as the previous Quick Apps.

Where can I see it running?

What is in it from Windows Live?

  • Live ID being associated with ASP.NET Profiles
  • User Generated Video Content
    • Accepting file uploads
    • dropping the uploads onto a MSMQ Queue
    • automatically encoding using Expression Encoder
    • programmatically uploading to Silverlight Streaming
    • rendering the videos back from Silverlight Streaming
  • Map Point Web Service
  • Contacts Control
  • Spaces Photo Control
  • Windows Live Alerts

To access the code right now:

    • either download it from the Source Code tab.
    • request developer access to the project so you can log bugs & update code

What is the status of it?

  • The code is complete but I won't add it to a codeplex release for a week or two just to make sure everything functions OK

What is the future?

  • Hardening, Hardening, Hardening!
  • Creating a branded instance with a UI which can be Shared under the MS-PL license

Find a bug?

Want to talk about it?

Big Shout out to Daryll McDade (Microsoft US) for driving this project!
