Empowering the Individual
Now that Frank is no longer my direct manager, I can only pick his brain over lunch hours.
I asked him about his lessons learnt on being an award winning people manager one lunch time this week.
His response was: "invest in the people, make sure they have a career path, make sure they are happy, empower the individuals, and they will do great work".
Out of all the management courses and residentials I've attended in my previous life, I don't think this single key point was spelt out so clearly and succinctly.
I'm also very glad to see Tracy's new focus in her new role as the Managing Director is "People, People, People".
