DIP consists of a synchronization profile, which tells OID how to connect and synchronize with the third-party directory, and a server process which actually performs the integration. The lab walks through the following: • Configure a synchronization profile which points to our AD server by using the dipassistant utility • Activating the synchronization profile in OID • Starting an instance of odisrv, the directory integration and replication process, using the oidctl command-line utility.
