About Me...
My name is Ryan Plant and I am a Strategic Architecture Advisor with the Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) group within Microsoft. As an Architecture Advisor I work with CIOs, CTOs, and Architects in helping them understand and establish strategic architecture within their businesses. I cover the Desert Mountain district which encompasses Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Las Vegas (and Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming).
I have 12 years experience in the Information Technology industry working as a Solutions Architect and CTO of major retail, travel, and telecommunications companies in North America. I am one of the first Microsoft Certified Solutions Architects to acheive the Microsoft Certified Architect credential and actively participate in mentoring, board reviews, and program administration/strategy.
My special interests and expertise lies in areas of Service-Orientation, EDGE architectures, Software-as-a-Service, Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance, .NET and J2EE application platforms, Business Intelligence, Dynamic Systems Initiative and various IT-related methodologies and frameworks. I seek to apply my knowledge and experience in these areas to customers who seek to establish an architecture strategy that aligns with the business.
