In this workshop, Jack Greenfield from Visual Studio Team Architect and Alan Cameron Wills from the Microsoft Solutions Framework in Patterns and Practices will help you get started with Software Factories. After starting with an overview of software factories and the motivation for using them, Jack and Alan will take you through the process of harvesting a software factory from existing applications. They will also review several technologies currently available for use in developing software factories, and will show you when and how to use them. Finally, they will talk about future directions for software factory tools and runtimes from Visual Studio Team System.
