Windows Live Writer Wins

Well, my 30 day trial of BlogJet expired recently. I enjoyed using the product. I especially liked the sense of humor embedded in the product. But, in the end, I am just too accustomed to Windows Live Writer to be productive in another tool. And, that's pretty high praise for WLW.

I’ve used both BlogJet and Windows Live Writer. I’ve yet to make up my mind which I prefer. Both are cool. But, at the moment, I’m leaning towards the former.

I especially like the fact that Toaster thought I might want to blog about trying their software. Very effective word-of-mouth marketing! Oh, and the quote Toaster added to the post was actually worth keeping:

I'm giving the new Windows Live Writer blog editor a try to see whether I like it as much as my trusy BlogJet. It's way too early to tell at this point, but Live Writer seems to have potential. I really like the Web Preview view.

This piece of software just crossed my keyboard: MindManager X5 Pro. I was already familiar with mind maps. Kent Beck uses them extensively. And, I’d seen similar software like The Brain. But, MindManager is so much more than just a mind mapping tool. It is extremely intuitive. I was up and running in less than five minutes. And, it integrates with several Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am so impressed that I am seriously considering coughing up the $250 they are asking!
