Q: Can I run Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server in a virtual machine?

A: It is possible to install Visual Studio 2005 Team System for evalulation purposes using both Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 and Microsoft Virtual PC 2004. However, some functionality (e.g., profiling) may not work inside an emulated environment and this configuration is not supported in production use.

Team Foundation Server is designed and tested to run on physical hardware, particularly those hardware platforms that are listed in the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).

Applicability: Prerelase Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server
