Four Ukrainian students are developing new gloves that translate sign language into audible words and potentially make it easier for people who are deaf and hard of hearing to interact with the hearing world.

In July, the four-student team gained international acclaim when they won a Microsoft 2012 Imagine Cup contest for their Enable Talk gloves, which use sensors on fingers and a controller to translate sign into audible words on a smartphone. Then they won another $50,000 grant from Microsoft and their dream became a promising startup.
