Kim Partridge, from the PartnerTV team interviewed me last week about TechEd and why partners, in particular, should make sure they're there.

  • They get to meet you??

i'm coming this year so better put some time away for a beer or two :)

  • Why partners SHOULD come?

How about this? Why SHOULD partners come? In the last year a lot of income sources have died off as businesses have become victims of the global financial crunch. Interestingly, a few of those same businesses have been my competitors and I am still here. Why am I here? I am here because I do the job right and with honesty and I dont spend unnecessary money in my business. TechEd is, most certainly, something I would like to attend but the cost is too great. The cost, for self employed people such as me is not just the cost of getting there, getting accommodation and spending on food etc, it is also the cost of lost business in that same time.

So thinking about that, how about you make attendance as virtual as possible? Eg, attendance over the net? In fact why not make the entire TechEd, for a test, a virtual attendance only, NEXT year?

In any case, that is my point of view. Small business who arent funded by enormous amounts of money cant afford TechEd.
