如果我有一个 web application ，部署到 windows azure 上。那么这就算一个 云程序么？

Having spent a number of hours working through this, setting up the Azure account etc, I was pretty chuffed when this all worked....

AND THEN.....

not long after, I get the email saying I had use 24 of my allocated 25 hours for the service.... Taking a quick look around, I see that leaving these running (makes sense *now*) eats up all your development time. Also apparently (I stand to be corrected ?!?!) if you suspend them, they still use the time. Having had a couple of people from Microsoft call me up trying to promote Azure etc, I had been hesitant in finding the time, but took up the project once I knew I had some spare (and free) resources to put at the project and establish a no cost Azure platform. And now, after having played with the "live" site for about 5 minutes (really, how long can you spend adding and editing a workout ?), I find my journey with Azure is over.

I will go back to it at some point, but while the costing model is so inflexible for developers who want to use it for side projects (and until I am very happy and an old hand, there is no way would even consider porting any of my big live projects over to it)

Long story short - Very disappointed with the experience,

############################################

really think there should be a BIG section on this tutorial at the end on HOW to best use Azure during a development phase, and how to conserve hours

############################################

I can't justify £60+ month on a platform that I would spend an hour a week looking at during the busy periods...

On the plus side, the last 12 months have been great as a MS dev, and poring all my web stuff to MVC and seeing the new things and energy at MS has been enlightening - perhaps I looked at Azure a little too soon for a small developer on his own

(PS : And yes, I know Amazon charge the same way)

We are currently working on our Migrations story, and we are making sure that it works semlessly with Azure. Right now, database initializers are the answer, but do expect to see a more mature Migrations story coming over the next few months.

Scott Hanselman showed a very early preview last week at MIX. Check out the last two minutes of Scott's talk here: channel9.msdn.com/.../frm02.

Any idea on the right approach to this?

Thanks
