The next version of Microsoft development framework that ships with Vista and has a down-level support for XP and Win2k3, which was also known as WinFX gets a new name - .Net 3.0.
The name change from WinFX to .Net3.0 is an attempt to lessen the confusion of the developer community, which always had a question about the relationship between WinFX and .Net 2.0.

InfoCard gets a new name “WCS”- Windows CardSpace as other WinFX (oops .Net3.0) technologies e.g; WCF, WPF and WF.
