C# Yellow Book

Looking to learn or teach C#? Rob Miles announced that the C# Yellow Book which “is used by the Department of Computer Science in the University of Hull as the basis of the First Year programming course” is available as a PDF file. I went and grabbed a copy. I happily recommend all of Rob’s work.

  • This looks like a C# for idiots, exactly what i have been looking for.  The two books I have tried to use earlier, "Visual C# 2008 Step by Step" and "Programming in the Key of C#" had too much coding and not enough programming.  The level of complexity was a bit high.  The last language I did any serious programming in was Apple Pascal on an Apple IIe.  I have taught VB6 but I really did not have to know much to teach programming out of a book.  I think is time to update and improve my programing teaching skills and this looks like an excellent start.  Thanks.
