About Ali Alvi's WebLog

My name is Ali Alvi

I am a Developer for the Internet Explorer Team. This blog is just an effort at reaching out to understand the boons and banes of folks whose lives are affected by an application called Internet Explorer.

Please know that as stated in the subtitle of the blog, I am a developer for the Networking and Download part of IE. Therefore, intricate details of the rendering engine and stuff that happens on the UI are out of my focus. However, I will do my best to do a decent job of replying to these questions. Questions regarding implementation of the HTTP spec, caching, connection management, security zones, some authentication and the like are stuff that I am more likely to give better answers to. See blogs of Jeff Dav and Tony Schriener (linked under Blogs I Read) for UI related questions.

The posts on this weblog are provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confer no rights. The opinions expressed herein are my own personal opinions and do not represent my employer's view in any way.
