The senior Account Technology Specialist (ATS) is focused on engaging both business and technical decision makers in a pre-sales capacity and through the trusted technical advisor role, uncover new and expanding opportunities to adopt Microsoft technology.
Key Responsibilities include: Work closely with the Microsoft Account Executive and Solution Specialists to build a strategic account plan to map customer business challenges to Microsoft products and solutions. Develop and maintain deep relationships with senior technical decision makers, providing deep insight into their business problems and how to craft technical solutions to those problems. Identify customer requirements and provide feedback to the appropriate Microsoft product teams. Drive large, strategic opportunities against competitors by building a strong sales pipeline across multiple regions.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a drive for results, team collaboration, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will have demonstrated a strong understanding of the technology marketplace, and be able to crisply articulate complex technical subjects to a wide audience. They will have technical domain expertise in infrastructure technology including desktop technologies, management and operations technology, and security products. Application and development platform technologies are a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize these pillars into a clear business value message.
A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred. 6+ years technical sales or services experience in enterprise-scale solutions is required. Manufacturing industry experience is preferred. A premier technical certification (MCSE/MCSD or competitive equivalent) is preferred. This role is primarily based in Connecticut.
