The DVD that you received has a VPC image that enables you to run the demos (under the VPC subdirectory. Youwill need to uncompress it ~13 GB).
More great info on building OBAs at OBA Central and don't forget the Office System Developer Conference in Feb 2008. As far as additional resources for OBA including links to the new BDC editor, what's in the MOSS SDK, additional VPCs, etc., I guess Joanna Bichsel's blog is the place to be - great work!
