eek! Just a quick update to my previous post with additional resources for you.

Quality

I discovered this great document from the WPF Team entitled the WPF Application Quality Guide.

WPF Application Quality Guide

It has suggested roadmaps for:

  • Quality Assurance Engineer/Software Test Engineer
  • Developer in Test
  • Application Developer
  • Control Developer

For Architects, the sections on the Architecture, Design Principles and the Major Subsystems are a good read. It is currently in its fourth revision and is around 77 pages long. Here’s a taste of what to expect:

  • Introduction to the WPF Programming Stack
  • WPF Architecture
  • WPF Design Principles
  • Major Subsystems of WPF
  • General Development Process for a WPF Application
  • Resources for Best Practices for Creating WPF Applications
  • Test Methodology, Planning, and Strategies

Nicely done, imho.

For those of you who liked the Photo Application I showed, it is photoSuru: A unique and fun user experience for photo viewing and sharing *and* a feature rich sample and starter kit for quickly and easily creating rich content experiences on Windows using .NET and Windows Presentation Foundation. Get it!

PDC WPF Videos

For those of you who want more WPF, check out the sessions from the PDC that are tagged with WPF. Suggestions? Check out the one entitled WPF Roadmap and the one entitled Microsoft Silverlight, WPF and the Microsoft .NET Framework: Sharing Skills and Code. More? Don’t forget the WPF Bootcamps are still available.

Thank you!

A great thank you to the folks who put on the original session that I delivered. Samantha went the extra mile to answer all the off the wall questions about the DataGrid and Ribbon and Mark went the extra mile to video record the Visual Studio 2010 enhancements post-PDC (protecting us all from the “frankenstein build” he showed at the PDC). Thank you guys! A special shout out to my new buddy Claudio, who made life easier by translating video into screen shots. Nice work. Obrigado :)
