Al gone dark?

Relax - Still blogging (and twitter feed has been pumping out inane chatter) but I have been busy.

So, what has been (and will be) happening in Al-land?

Conference Fever!

7-11th of July - Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Houston - I was keeping the Office Enterprise booth going, showing off all the coolness of Groove and OneNote. As for Texas... It is not high on my list of places to visit again (at least not in summer). I was impressed with how many microsoft partners already use and run their businesses with Groove and OneNote.

14-19th of July - MACH Global Conference / MGX, Atlanta - It turns out Georgia is a long way away from Texas. These overlapping internal conferences were a lot of fun and a great opportunity to network with colleagues from all around the world. Plus, it is fun to see Steve Ballmer, Kevin Turner, Stephen Elop, Ray Ozzie et al strut their funky stuff to an audience of over 12,000 people.

30-31st of July - OpenPublish Conference, Sydney - I am delivering a presentation called Building Better Business Systems with Office and SharePoint. If you know me or follow this blog, you will know the premise - "Enterprise Systems are too hard to use and too slow to develop, why not develop or front-end some or all of the system using Office. Why write a charting module when excel's charts are much better than you have time to do anyway..."

12- 14th of August - Tech.Ed SEA, Kuala Lumpur - On another plane (albeit discount airline) to talk about Groove and secure collaboration in South East Asia. I am looking forward to meeting customers and partners from around the region.

27th of August - Sydney Business and Technology User Group, North Ryde - well, while not technically a conference, I will be speaking about electronic forms for your office, in Office. Come along for a spirited discussion on the when to use what for electronic forms.

2-5th of September - Tech.Ed Australia, Sydney - And finally, the big one. 200 technical breakout sessions (20 of which are Office specific) as well as the best experts from around Australia and the world.

In addition to all this, I am quietly working away on a few other things (aka, my everyday job) - so if you see a caffeine crazed guy walking around town (any town) muttering about failwhales, stay clear (or offer more coffee).
