I got back last week from recruiting at the IEEE Career Fair at the University of Minnesota. I wanted to thank everyone who came by to the booth. I hope you got the information you were looking for about full time and internship opportunities at Microsoft. In case you could not make it to the fair, you can go to http://www.microsoft.com/College/default.mspx to get more information. Also to send in your resume, you can click on the 'Make a Connection' link, choose the University and then send it in to the recruiter address on this University Recruiting page.

Adding my thoughts on the career fair. There were fewer core Computer Science students but many more students from other Engineering disciplines. Also I noticed many students wanted to pursue career opportunities only in the area of research that they are currently involved in. Although I get the reasoning behind this choice, this constraint will limit your chances in a number of positions across many more products.

I also had a couple of students ask me about Computer Science as a career choice. And I pointed them to a recent compile of the Best Jobs with excellent present prospects and future potential. And Software Engineer was .. Number One!
