About A Dullard's Guide

My name is Amy Dullard and I'm a program manager at Microsoft on the Visual Web Developer team under Visual Studio.  I work on Silverlight Tools and the VWD designer.  I came to Microsoft in 2007 to work on the HD DVD team as a developer evangelist.  Yes I have a couple of HD DVD players and a library of discs.  No, I don't own a Blu-ray player and never will.

Before coming to Microsoft, I was a code monkey - software engineer, web developer, technical consultant, HD DVD advanced application programmer, etc.  In technology, things often feel like they are made to be more complicated than they need to be.  But I don't think development needs to be voodoo.  I've always been a big fan of making it easier to get the final product out - whether that means creating utilities to make my job easier or enabling non-programmer clients to own and manage their site.  So, on my blog, you'll tend to find a lot of things like batch files or step-by-step instructions.

If you have a question or an idea for a blog topic, feel free to email me.  I try to respond to everyone, but sometimes email gets buried.  So if I don't get back to you, feel free to ping me again :)

Happy Programming
