Andrew Connell has found "Yet Another Use of the MCMS Undocumented API" available as a MCMS Security API user-sample on GotDotNet.
This goes for all products -
1) STAY OUT OF THE DATABASE
2) Don't use unsupported/internal API's
If you MUST make unsupported changes or use internal API's be prepared for issues in applying Service Packs or if you open a support case you may need to "get your system back to a supported state" before proceeding :)
There is a new Channel 9 video up - Check it out.
Why use Commerce Server? Lots of big-name retailers do. But, what the heck is it? Now that the Christmas Shopping season is over we sit down with the team that builds the product that runs a lot of the commerce-oriented Web sites out there. Fun discussion with part of the team that makes Commerce Server. Download the VideoWatch the Video

Quote from the CMS Rapid website "Based on CMS.RAPID, Kent County Council's new Web site at www.kent.gov.uk is built with transformation of Local Authority services in mind. Having deployed CMS.RAPID in partnership with Artemis, Kent County Council remains at the leading edge of technology and transformation; the new Web site reinforces Kent's position as a beacon of 'Excellence' and sets the standards for others to follow."
I'm loving the SharePoint community right about now.
A neat customer requriement comes up - you need to be able to add any page in your portal to your "My Links" on your MySite.
Mads Nissen has found this issue and already killed it - check out the solution here.
I've just watched the CMS.Rapid update webcast recording - WOW!
They have some very cool stuff coming up.
Check out the recording here.
This tool looks so cool! It allows you to modify the ONET.XML and SCHEMA.XML files within a friendly UI instead of cracking open your favorite text editor.
Bil Simser is a complete guru!
What's even neater (is that a word?) is the fact he's using .NET 2.0 and deploying the app via ClickOnce which will auto look for updates if connected to the web :)
He especially wants everyone to swamp him with requests to become a tester :) (only kidding - don't do that!)
Now I've been @ MS for a few weeks I thought I would get my Dogfood on.
On my backup laptop (Dell D600, 1Gb RAM) I'm now running Windows Vista and Office "12" beta 1 and loving it.
The Office "12" client runs really well on Vista and I am starting to make a real effort to eat out of the dog's bowl a lot more (I think if you dogfood out of a VM it is too easy to not boot the VM and go back to your old habits, where as using a second machine you get all the Yum! which comes from dogfooding without the risk of a crash).
In other dogfood news I've also setup an internal wiki using an Office "12" SharePoint Server.
Who knows about the future - I wonder if I could get my email on an Exchange dogfood, host my Home Drive on WinFS and only interact with my computer via Speech Recognition :)
Spencer Harbar is writing some great MCMS 2002 Service Pack 2 oriented articles.
Check out the Rational Guide to Installing MCMS 2002 Service Pack 2.
Joel Oleson has released RecycleBin 1.1
I know many of you have been waiting weeks if not months for this. Thanks for your patience. I see many users looking for cross language support and notifying of other bugs. I appreciate the feedback and see what we can do to incorporate this feedback.
Check it out here.
