Office Live Contact Map
This download will install a sample code mashup for Microsoft Office Live which is designed to map the addresses of all contacts included in an Office Live Business Contact Manager application. This sample code creates a map displaying the location of all of your contacts included in the Contacts list in the Business Contact Manager application when you have either an Office Live Essentials or Premium subscription. This mashup leverages the Microsoft Virtual Earth APIs and the Web services in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. It is a sample of one way that Web services can be used to create Web Parts that enhance Office Live business applications.

This code sample shows you how to create an item-level auditing view programmatically in three different ways: using a custom SharePoint list, through the Excel client, and by manipulating the open XML file format to display auditing history using Excel Services on an application page.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 provides auditing by default but it does not give the ability for a non-administrator to view the auditing history of a specific document or item in a list. This code sample shows a developer how to extend this auditing functionality to create an item-level auditing view in three different ways: using a custom SharePoint list, through the Excel client, and by manipulating the open XML file format to display auditing history using Excel Services on an application page. It is accompanied by a thorough white paper describing the code as well as a setup document.

Check out this great article from Christopher V. Domino. (I first read Christopher vs Domino...)
"One of the greatest leaps that SharePoint 2003 has made to its 2007 release is the fact it is now built entirely on top on ASP.NET 2.0. SharePoint can now even be thought of as an actual web application, just like any other. While 2003 hacked its way into IIS and ASP.NET, 2007 integrates nicely into its environment, dotting all the I’s and crossing all the T’s along the way. Therefore, all the components that we use every day in our web apps should be able to seamlessly play similar roles in SharePoint. This includes web user controls, master pages, managed code, and, as this article discusses, authentication providers. These modules were painful (if even possible) to implement in 2003 and behave much more nicely in 2007. So if you ever find yourself frustrated with the development of some SharePoint functionality, just remind yourself: “Hey, this is just a web app I’m dealing with…”"

You need to hit all the PLANNING FOR SECURITY (beta link) sites – available in the planning architecture content on TechNet.
You then want to review standard ASP.NET securing architecture:
- Machine.config lockdown;
- Sql lockdown;
- ISA to lockdown only to port 80;
- ISA for port filtering & application filtering
- MOSS
o DENY rules to virtual servers (web application policies)
o Lockdown MOSS application pools etc.

The full internet content isn’t written yet but there is some very strong guidance written for MCMS 2002 which will show how deep we have gone in the past.

One of the great improvements in IE7 is the accessibility features.
I found under Internet Options --> General --> Accessibility you can define your own CSS which will be applied to every site you visit.
This is a killer feature for a few reasons:
I've blogged about Heather before. She isn't any normal nerd.
She is a designer! Making sites look good and usable is her gig.
Heather has released a "base Master Page" for MOSS 2007.
From Heather's Blog entry:
