Ian Morrish (MCS NZ) has posted an article (back in December) which talks about how to integrate Windows Live Search into MOSS 2007.
Basically - sign up for an appID, download the Web Part; add the appID to the .webpart file; it will call the web service.

This doesn't seem to work anymore from SharePoint Designer as in Mr. Morrish's post. I've got my new AppID but all I get are invalid AppID errors. If run from the Live Search 2.0 SDK code samples it works fine (no problems with the AppID), but run from SPD bombs.
