BTW - did I mention there are hosted demos of the Live In a Box Virtual Lab.
At Microsoft there are a few different roles some of which are Program Managers & Product Managers.
Chris Johnson on his blog documents this as:
program managersIndividuals who are responsible for pulling together and facilitating internal project team communication, driving trade-off decisions, and owning budget and resource planning for multiple projects or programs. product managersIndividuals who are responsible for coordinating marketing programs, creating marketing materials and driving co-promotions with the software product groups, and also provide strategic, programmatic and marketing leadership to drive partner go-to-market strategies and implementation in support of divisional goals.

Danny (dev) and Koji (program manager) are in the team which builds the APIs/Controls/all that good stuff, I am in the team which will take it to market.
Koji & Danny have done a great interview on Channel9 - Catherine Heller - Technical Evangelist guru (who just did a tour through Europe for REMIX):
Windows Live is best known as a collection of end-user offerings – like Messenger, Spaces, Search, Hotmail and a whole bunch more. It’s also in the process of evolving into a platform. Koji Kato and Danny Thorpe, from the Windows Live platform team, discuss their views on internet software and what it means to “componentize” Windows Live. Koji sets some context by drawing an analogy to Office (00:02:27), and its early evolution from a set of end-user targeted apps to a set of components. Beta versions of the Windows Live Contacts Control and Spaces Photo Control (described by Danny around 00:11:37) represent some of the initial Windows Live components, and include customization plans (00:21:21), international/localization support (00:19:13), and support for multiple browsers (00:18:15). Koji Kato is a Group Program Manager on the Windows Live platform team. Danny Thorpe is Architect on the Windows Live platform team. The interview was conducted by Catherine Heller, Windows Live Technical Evangelist (who you may remember from her former Windows Vista evangelism days).

I don't think we are going to change our mind and dis-Tatham :)
From Tatham Oddie:
Assuming nobody at Microsoft Australia rolls over in bed tonight and changes their mind, I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be presenting at TechEd Australia this year. The official session blurb (missing a zillion ™ and ® symbols) is: Utilising Windows Live Web Services Today Windows Live represents a collection of opportunities to integrate with a new generation of online services. This session provides an overview of the Windows Live family - outlining the business and technical advantages, the range of integration options that exist for each service, real world examples and live demos. My plan is to focus on: Live ID what’s available now an overview of how to integrate it with demo (partly pre-cooked) why to integrate (stats on number of users) · Spaces what integration options exist · Messenger what integration options exist (activities / bots) why to integrate · Contacts control vs. API demo of the Windows Live Data API I’ve been building out a library in this space which makes it easy to call from.NET – will hopefully be releasing this open source soon · why to integrate (stats on number of users) · Virtual Earth less here – John + Bronwen will cover this in their session overview + show some of the partner sites already out there Other topics that could also be covered: Live Toolbar Custom Buttons how to build them I’ve been building out a library in this space which makes them really easy to publish from ASP.NET – will hopefully be releasing this open source soon too Live.com Gadgets been around a while so probably not do much more than mention them If you’re interested in know more about the Windows Live family, or don’t really understand what live is about, come along and check it out. If there’s anything you can think of that you’d especially like to see, drop me a note and I’ll try and get it in. See you on the Gold Coast!

Harrison announced over on the LiveSide that he will start writing for CNet - The Web Services Report:
As of today, in addition to my work on LiveSide, I will also be writing The Web Services Report for CNET. That does not mean that I am leaving LiveSide or anything like that, I am just taking on another challenge. This is something that I have wanted to do and I think that it will be interesting to look at web services more broadly and see how Windows Live fits into the big picture.
The first few posts look promising:
To free up some space down the left of my blog I am moving the list of public websites which are built on MOSS 2007 from the left hand side of my blog to this post.
This post will be be updated when new ones come online.
I saw over on TechCrunch there is a new company, Virgin charter who are bringing together buyers and sellers of private aviation.
Travel is one of my favorite pass times, perhaps one day it will be cheap enough (or I'll be rich enough) to grab a seat on a private jet (I wish).
Below is a screen shot courtesy of TechCrunch
Their web site is still brochure-ware, I wonder if they will extend the Silverlight Airline Demo and then you can invite your friends from your Messenger buddy list using the Contacts API :)
The guys look super smart too:
As Danny Thorpe mentioned on his blog, the Windows Live controls have been moved onto new hardware away from dev.live.com and moved to controls.services.live.com.
