There is some serious bush fires happening in Australia right now -- very very bad. I don’t know much as I haven’t been following the news.
I was pleasantly surprised the live.com team in the US have chosen this as a theme for the background on their site and provide links to more information.

We have worked with Octazen to make their importer use the Live Contact API which is way cool, now lots of sites can provide safer addressbook portability.

Few thoughts from the Open ID UX summit today: people need to be given a choice and they need to be in control of where their data flows.
it isn’t enough to just say “if you want to sign in, we will get your address book”.
