It was a bright and sunny day. I was merrily skipping along, celeberating my 'metero-ness'. It hadn't been too long since Jeff made this comment about my new hair style, and Rory and Amy had praised my metrosexuality (this was before Rory stole my flashy-flamboyant-metro-orange-colored-fleece from my boss' car and tried it on). I was feeling kinda good about all the other vivid emails I was receiving from people I didn't know, telling me what they would do to, or with me, when they were to meet me. The pressure was a-mounting on this swan. There was all this buzz about my handsomeness, that was starting to make me want to turn the heat down, on this li'l pressure cooker.

So, here I was, by Union Square walking along. I wasn't really there to buy anything (I was however on the lookout for a pair of the in 'aviators'), but just flaunting my hair style, and 'teh' me. I did the casual, customary 'whats up' head nod with pretty much everyone who went by, and I even caught some women smiling back. A girl came up and told me that her sister had the same jacket I'd been wearing, which I thought was odd, coz, why would a girl wear a guy's metro-jacket, right? Duh!! And then, it happened...

I see these two cops walking in the opposite direction, towards me. Without really thinking at all, I winked at them. It wasn't a deliberate wink, it was supposed to be more of a super confident 'whats up' head nod that went seriously awry. My eye-lid was shut for no more than a second or so. But, it was a wink. The cops were seriously disgusted; I could tell by the way they looked at me afterwards, and then decided to bank 30 degrees to the right, and try to get as far away from me as possible. That's when I decided it was time to head back home. I had too much metro-power, and it was starting to get a little scary.

In hindsight, I don't know if I'm to blame - because, hey, you know, the first thing that comes to mind when you see a cop, regardless of whether he or she is in a car or not, is to slow the frick down, and to pretend to be a normal law-abiding human being. I suppose multi-tasking isn't my thing...

So, dear SFFD cop, Union Square beat, Monday 10.30am-ish, ummm I mean, Sunday, 10.30am-ish Steve (boss-man) (I mean, wouldn't that be silly that I'd be hanging out by Union Square on a weekday at 10.30am - hahahahahahahahahahahaha... look a bird, behind you); I hope you see that, that's that.
