Roadmap for Visual Studio Team System Architect
To be replaced by
The Process Control Panel
Dr Alan Cameron Wills
Software Architect, Microsoft Corp
Process enactment tools like Team Foundation support various aspects of team collaboration - for example in tracking the progress of tasks, bugs, requirements; by providing a central repository; and with services like continuous integration and test. But processes vary widely between one project and another: even on a single project, the process can change as it progresses
We can envisage a wizard or control panel that helps a project manager set up everything required for team working; and that helps adjust the process as time goes on. What controls should be on that panel? What are the processes and process variations they support, and how should that support work?
This participative session will brainstorm ideas for the ideal flexible process support tool. We will begin by looking at proposals the MSF Team are considering along these lines.
Ideas discussed in the session may find their way into Microsoft or other tools without attribution.
