Hello there! My name is Arvind Shyamsundar. I work as a Principal Premier Field Engineer with Microsoft Services. I am based in Mumbai, India.
Follow me on Twitter or read my complete bio on LinkedIn.
In my day job, I help customers with proactive advice on avoiding issues and fine tuning their SQL Server systems. I have been in the industry for over 15 years now and my biggest joy is to share my learning and experience with the community.
I am also a Microsoft Certified Master: SQL Server 2008, an accomplishment I am very proud of.
My current technology focus areas include T-SQL anti-patterns, remote assessment of SQL Server health and risk (for our SQL RAP as a Service - SQLRaaS offering) and mentoring our engineers on various fronts.
I'm also a big fan of analytics and apply BI technology to domains like Aviation and Sports Analytics.
This blog is shaped based on questions we get which have no readily documented answers - that is why it is called Esoteric :-)
